At the heart of England’s fly fishing legacy lies the England Under 18 River, Bank Fly Fishing Team who are a dedicated group of young anglers, aged 12 to 17, training to represent their country on the international stage.
Through commitment, discipline and a love of the water, these young athletes compete in the Home International Fly Fishing Championships, facing off against Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the rest of the world. As part of Team England Fly Fishing, these juniors are guided by experienced mentors to develop their technical skills and environmental awareness while building the foundations for elite-level competition.
Unlike many sports, youth fly fishing receives limited mainstream funding.
The majority of our program is sustained through the generosity of supporters like you – people who believe in giving young anglers the chance to grow, compete and thrive. Every donation helps provide essential training, gear, travel support and access to key national and international events. With your help, we’re not just building better anglers – we’re shaping responsible stewards of our rivers and lakes.
We believe in full transparency. Here’s how your support makes a difference:
When you give, you are not merely funding a team - you are investing in the growth and development of young people.
